The role
This is a brand new Inventory Planning Analyst role created as part of their supply chain transformation agenda. You'll sit within the central supply chain team with the Demand Planning Lead, two Demand Planners, a Supply Planner, and an Operations Planner.

Your primary focus is maintaining optimal inventory levels across all branch locations and the main distribution centre. You'll translate complex inventory data into clear, actionable recommendations for state managers and supply chain leadership. 

What you will be doing
  • Analyse and monitor inventory levels across branch locations to ensure optimal stock holdings
  • Generate regular inventory reports including stock aging, slow moving items, and branch performance analysis
  • Conduct branch stock reviews and provide recommendations for inventory adjustments and transfers
  • Identify and manage dead stock, obsolete inventory, and excess holdings to minimise write-offs
  • Maintain inventory master data accuracy and support data cleansing initiatives
  • Drive continuous improvement in inventory management processes and systems
  • Collaborate with supply, demand, warehouse and logistics teams to align inventory strategies
What our client is looking for

Essential:
  • At least 5 years in an analyst role with inventory management as a core focus
  • Ability to work independently and contribute to building new processes and procedures from the ground up
  • Background in distributor model business preferred but not essential
Desirable:
  • Proficiency in Dynamics 365, SAP or Oracle
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and dashboard creation
  • Experience with inventory analysis techniques, including ABC classification, stock ageing, and turnover analysis
  • Understanding of multi-site inventory distribution models
  • Power BI or similar data visualisation experience (highly desirable given reporting focus)
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
