Supply Chain Team Leader

Our client is an innovative Australian-owned food manufacturing business that produces some of Australia's favourite brands. They are seeking a capable and hands-on Supply Team Leader to lead a team across end-to-end planning.
 
With a strong reputation for their household brands and a growing product range, our client services major retail and foodservice customers across the country. This role offers the opportunity to lead and mentor a team of four planners while remaining close to the day-to-day details of supply and production planning.
 
About the Role:
 
Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, you will be responsible for driving planning excellence across materials, production, inventory management and demand planning. You will lead a high-performing team and ensure alignment across forecasting, scheduling, and supplier coordination to meet service and production targets.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop a team of four planners across supply, production, demand and  materials planning
  • Oversee the end-to-end planning process to ensure consistent product availability and schedule adherence
  • Collaborate with procurement, manufacturing, and warehousing teams to optimise planning outputs
  • Monitor stock levels and ensure raw materials and packaging are in place to support production schedules
  • Lead to S&OP processes and help align supply with forecasted demand
  • Drive process improvements, planning accuracy, and system optimisation
  • Act as the point of escalation for supply issues and help resolve operational challenges
  • Provide coaching and guidance to the planning team and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
What is our client looking for? 
  • 7-10+ years' experience in a supply, production, or demand planning role, ideally within food or FMCG manufacturing
  • Proven leadership experience or readiness to step into a team leadership role
  • Strong understanding of ERP/MRP systems and planning processes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence across departments
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
  • High attention to detail with the ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
