What You'll Do
- Manage relationships with multiple transport providers across the national network
- Negotiate contracts, rates, and service level agreements with transport suppliers
- Monitor supplier performance against KPIs including cost, service, and on time delivery
- Identify opportunities to consolidate, optimise, or change transport providers
- Resolve day to day operational issues and escalations with carriers
- Develop and implement transport strategies to support business growth
- Analyse transport data and trends to inform decision making
- Work cross functionally with warehousing, customer service, and commercial teams
- Ideally proven experience as an internal Transport Manager managing a portfolio of third-party suppliers (not running your own fleet)
- Strong background in supplier relationship management and contract negotiation
- Experience managing multiple transport modes
- Demonstrated ability to balance hands-on execution with strategic thinking
- Track record of delivering cost savings and service improvements through supplier management
- National transport network experience across Australia
- Comfortable working independently in a standalone role without a direct team
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills with external partners
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret transport data and identify trends
