Procurement Manager – Manufacturing (Infrastructure Products)
Location: Southbank
Employment Type: Full-time
Reporting to: GM Supply Chain
Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturer of infrastructure products, is seeking an experienced and commercially focused Procurement Manager to join their leadership team.
Supplying into major infrastructure and civil projects across Australia, the business is known for delivering high-quality, fit-for-purpose water infrastructure solutions, with a strong focus on reliability and service. This newly created position will play a critical role in managing the end-to-end procurement function across raw materials, components, and key supplier relationships.
About the Role
The Procurement Manager will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies that support production schedules, optimise cost, and ensure continuity of supply. This role works closely with production, engineering, and project teams to support both day-to-day operations and long-term growth objectives.
You will also be responsible for managing indirect procurement for the business, as well as overseeing key international third-party manufacturing relationships, particularly in China.

You will also be responsible for managing indirect procurement for the business, as well as overseeing key international third-party manufacturing relationships, particularly in China.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic sourcing of materials, components, and services critical to the manufacture of infrastructure products
- Drive a transformation agenda, including the restructure and development of the procurement function
- Manage a team of three procurement specialists
- Develop and execute procurement plans aligned with production and project timelines
- Negotiate supplier agreements and monitor performance across cost, quality, and delivery metrics
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, identifying new partners and mitigating supply risks
- Drive cost reduction initiatives, value engineering, and contract compliance
- Oversee inventory levels and coordinate with internal teams on planning and availability
- Maintain accurate procurement data within ERP systems
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and continuous improvement across the procurement function
- 5+ years’ experience in a procurement leadership role, ideally within manufacturing or infrastructure
- Strong commercial acumen with a track record of successful supplier negotiations
- Experience sourcing materials such as steel, concrete, precast products, or other industrial inputs
- Sound knowledge of procurement systems and ERP tools (essential)
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
